Statistical (SAS) Programmer

Summary:

Project Details:
- Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor
- Develop professional expertise in writing and validating programs, primarily SAS, for analysis datasets, tables, figures, and listings for clinical studies, or for regulatory submissions; applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues
- Work with general instructions on routine jobs, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. Work is reviewed for soundness
- Solve problems of moderate scope in statistical programming for clinical trials conducted by RTG Medical Department
- Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
- Build productive working relationships with clinical trial team members and other functional groups
- Provide assistance to junior level staff with general tasks that require a better understanding of statistical programming, as directed by immediate supervisor.
- Refer to senior level staff for assistance with higher level problems that may arise
- Escalate issues to supervisor/manager for resolution, as deemed necessary
- Document programming procedures and coding
Job Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in statistics, biostatistics or related quantitative science/field required
- 3+ years of related experience required
- Experience with statistical programming in SAS and R (or related) required
- Experience with cloud computing environments, Python, and C++ preferred
- Experience programming in UNIX and LINUX environments preferred
- Experience with management and analysis of large, complex datasets preferred
- Experience writing clear and accurate technical documentation of programs preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with experience prioritizing work in an environment with multiple and conflicting interests preferred
- Experience handling complex and confidential information with discretion preferred
