The Challenge
A nation-wide multi-line managed care enterprise required services to complete a migration of Windows™ End User Devices (EUDs) to the Win 10 operating system by a fixed deadline. The goal of the initiative was to decrease network vulnerabilities, improve network management and promote standardization across 72 office locations and approximately 10,000 EUDs. The program had a limited travel and expense budget and a large geographical footprint so the client needed a partner with the ability to maximize efficiency of resources and deploy them in a cost effective manner.

The Solution
We partnered with the client to understand the geographic locations impacted by the migration activities and determined the right combination of resources to create independent teams for each migration. We leveraged our national reach to deploy eight teams totaling approximately 150 technicians in close proximity to client sites to minimize travel and expenses. We provided a centralized Project Manager to coordinate the overall migration with corporate and site leadership. In addition to performing the migrations and post-migration end user support, we provided the client with the following:

  • Daily status reporting of efforts of field teams to escalate to corporate IT leadership
  • Coordination of all travel required for field teams to complete the contract
  • Financial analysis and reporting to ensure the program stayed within budget
  • Training of personnel to support new technologies and initiatives requested by the client

The Result
Our solution and ability to scale nationwide resulted in the completion of the project on schedule and offered significant cost savings to the client. The client was able to deliver approximately 10,000 migrations within 14 months. Executives viewed the program as a major success relative to the pace and quality of the enterprise migration.
