Delivering Senior Expertise for Successful NRC Licensing Preparation

Situation

Our client, a provider of carbon-free energy generated from nuclear, solar, and wind sources, faced a significant hurdle in their efforts to prepare candidates for licensing by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). They lacked the right resources and senior personnel needed to successfully launch and run an intensive Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) class. The resumes they received did not meet the necessary standards to lead the class, and the urgency to assemble a qualified team was high. Previously, we provided the client with ILT/LORT support, so they reached out to us knowing we could meet this new need.

Solution

We leveraged our proven processes and rapid response capabilities. Within two weeks of the initial interviews and getting the approvals needed, we deployed two highly skilled consultants to support the client’s training program. Our approach included providing time and materials, hands-on expertise, and maintaining a strong work ethic. Our consultants consistently met expectations, offering guidance in the simulator room,  and helping candidates overcome knowledge gaps and succeed in the SRO training.

The training was completed on time, with all goals achieved and the SRO class running successfully. Our consultants’ contributions closed critical resource gaps, enabling the client to develop highly skilled personnel for nuclear power plant operations. The relationship continues to thrive, with two consultants now deployed with a new team/project and the client choosing us again for their next training period.
