Learn Oxford\u2019s process, what we do \u2014 and don\u2019t \u2014 ask for \u2014 so you can understand the steps we take to safeguard your personal information, and help protect your from phishing scams.<\/p>\n<h2>Information We Don&#8217;t Ask For<\/h2>\n<p><strong>We will never:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ask for banking or other financial information as part of the application process.<\/li>\n<li>Send you money to purchase additional equipment or ask for your credit card information<\/li>\n<li>Request any additional unique identifiers nor institutional data until your first placement has been directly confirmed with you.<\/li>\n<li>Ask you to share logins and passwords or other personal information with us (and you should be suspicious of anyone who does).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Tips to Help You Stay Secure Online<\/h2>\n<p>Unfortunately, some of the biggest risks to your personal data are low-tech: think scammers who\u2019ll call or email you \u2014 posing as recruiters and employment agents to get access to your personal information, including bank and\/or financial institution information.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Being secure online, in your job search and beyond, starts with being smart. If you don\u2019t already, make these three simple steps a habit!<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>If you don\u2019t trust it, don\u2019t click on it.<\/strong> Phishing scammers often send emails that include links and documents that contain malware or technology that can steal sensitive information, including online sign-in credentials and passwords. Go with your gut, and if you don\u2019t trust it, don\u2019t click on it. And if you\u2019re unsure about an email you\u2019ve received, call your Oxford contact, and they will be able to clarify it for you.<\/li>\n<li><strong>If someone you don\u2019t know calls or emails you to ask for personal information, such as your bank account, date of birth, or personal identification information, don\u2019t give it to them. <\/strong>Some scammers fake caller ID numbers. If you have even the slightest doubt, contact the organization through official channels and investigate. For anything Oxford related, feel free to <a href=\"\/en\/contact\/\">contact us<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Create complicated, unique, difficult-to-crack passwords<\/strong>\u00a0with a minimum of eight characters (many cybersecurity firms recommend at least 15 or even 20 characters). Never reuse a password and update passwords regularly.
