The Challenge

A leading pharmaceutical company embarked on a global consolidation program that involved reducing 10 separate instances of SAPTM down to one instance of SAP S/4 HANA. To achieve such a large-scale initiative, additional support would be required. The client needed a partner with resources worldwide to support the multi-faceted project. Due to our unique ability to place consultants in multiple countries within an extremely short timeframe, the client chose Oxford Global Resources.

The Solution

We were engaged to review, harmonize, and oversee business processes within finance, controlling, track and trace, data governance, quality, manufacturing, customer service, reporting, and supply chain. Each of the individual consultants placed had technical experience with SAP, so they effectively bridged the gap between the integrator and the client to ensure we represented all key business qualifications. They adapted the solution for GxP, GMP, CSV, regulatory requirements, and compliance. Additionally, the core template had to be consistent across multiple countries, and our consultants were able to facilitate a globally aligned program. Specific activities included:

  • Gathering business requirements
  • Running workshops with key stakeholders
  • Business processes
  • Design specifications

Over the course of our partnership with the client, we placed over 50 consultants. They supported the project from business blueprint design through to the deployment of FI, CO, FSCM, SD, MM, TM, PP, PPPI, BI, QM, and MDG.

The Result

The client retained the majority of the consultants placed on the project, and to date they have completed implementation of the new SAP instance in Spain, Portugal, The Netherlands, and Belgium. As they continue rollouts in their US locations, Oxford’s consultants remain on board to assist with this complex initiative.
