Oxford Global Resources received the 2011 James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award given by the Defense Security Service (DSS), an agency of the U.S. Department of Defense.

Oxford was one of only 17 recipients of this year's award, selected by the DSS from a field of 13,000 contractors providing services to the Department of Defense subject to recurring inspection. The Cogswell Award, established in 1966 and named in honor of the late Air Force colonel James S. Cogswell, recognizes industrial security excellence and is the highest honor a company can receive for excellence in the handling of classified information.

"We are pleased that the Defense Security Service has recognized Oxford as being among the elite firms in the United States in protecting classified information in our work with the Department of Defense. Special recognition is due to Judy Santo, Oxford's Security Officer, for her hard work in spearheading our efforts in this area."

The Cogswell Award selection process is rigorous. According to the DSS (http://www.dss.mil/about_dss/press_room/11cogswell.html), facilities may only be nominated if they have at a minimum two consecutive superior industrial security review ratings, and show a sustained degree of excellence and innovation in their overall security program management, implementation, and oversight.

In addition to Oxford Global Resources, recipients of the 2011 Cogswell Award include General Dynamics, L-3, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and others.
